Last Update: 15/10/2019

KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 15 -- The Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) has officially appointed Terengganu FC (TFC) acting coach, Nafuzi Zain as the team’s head coach for the Malaysia League next season.

The decision was announced by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar who is also PBSNT president in a media conference at PBSNT annual general meeting here today.

Ahmad Samsuri said the appointment of the Kelantan-born coach was based on his performance after former head coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim resigned abruptly in May following a losing streak.

“Nafuzi was selected based on his track record in managing the squad as acting head coach, We saw he was bold in bringing Terengganu up a top team.

Ahmad Samsuri said PNSNT would also be reshuffling TFC players by featuring 60 per cent new faces with the target of filling 80 per cent of the squad with local boys next season.

He also said that Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Gong Badak will be the official venue for TFC for M League next season.

“So for their first match of 2020 Super League, TFC will be playing at the stadium which is more comfortable bigger and bigger while TFC II will remain in Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium," he said.
