SSDC reps, next-of-kin of Azalan leave for Turkey tonight

SHAH ALAM, Oct 17  -- The Selangor State Development Department (SSDC) will send four of its representatives and a next-of-kin of Azalan Miswan, its personnel, who was killed in a road mishap, to Turkey tonight.

SSDC corporate communications manager, Mahfizul Rusydin Abd Rashid, in a statement here today, said other than arranging to bring back of the remains of Azalan, the SSDC representatives would also work to ease the management of the injured personnel.

He said SSDC had also identified its four injured staff who were being treated in a local hospital in Turkey.

‘’The three victims of broken arms are Nor Afisah Ahmad Ferdaus, 50, Shamsul Bahrin Mohd Shukur, 55, and Zurani Muhamad Darum, 50, while Roslan Mohamed, 58, had internal injuries,’’ he said.

"Nor Afisah and Shamsul Bahrin are being treated at the Afyonkarahisar Hospital while Zurani at Ozel Parkayat Hospital. Roslan is being treated at the Afyonkarahisar Saglik Bilimleri Hospital," he said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement today, confirmed that a Malaysian was killed while 10 others were hurt in an accident involving a bus which was ferrying a Malaysian tour group comprising 35 SSDC personnel at  Afyonkarahisar, Turkey.

The accident at 11.35 am yesterday local time caused the bus ferrying the tourists to overturn while travelling from Pamukkale to Cappadocia.
