KPDNHEP seizes 50,000 kg of subsidised cooking oil

KUANTAN, Oct 22 -- A total of 50,000 kg of subsidised cooking oil worth more than RM120,000 was seized during a raid on an illegal premises in Taman Pandan 2 here this afternoon.

Pahang State Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) chief enforcement officer Mohd Suffian Mohd Abass said personnel made the seizure after following a lorry heading to the premises.

"Investigations also found that there was another lorry at the illegal premises. KPDNHEP seized all the equipment at the premises including 20 containers and two lorries," he said.

Three suspects in their 40s and 50s were also detained to have their statements recorded, he said, adding the case was being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974.
