Last Update: 07/11/2019

GEORGE TOWN, Nov 7 -- Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) will be organising the fourth edition of Malaysia's biggest business events conference, BE@Penang, next month.

The two-day conference will kick off on Dec 5 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Bayan Baru near, here concurrently with the inaugural International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Asia Pacific Summit 2019.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said to have both the BE@Penang conference and ICCA Asia Pacific Summit held concurrently in Penang was one giant leap for the business events industry.

He said the knowledge exchange between events and its delegates would prove endless possibilities in envisioning a bright future for business events.

"This sector has proven its worth and is continuing to bear fruit accordingly as the years pass," he told a press conference, here today.

Meanwhile, PCEB chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekaran, who was also present at the press conference, said a total of 40 speakers from all over the Asia Pacific like India, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand will attend the events.

“By having these two conferences in Penang, this will set the standards higher for the state in terms of organising world-class conferences and having discussions on relevant topics to prepare the industry to be in the future," he said.

The registration fee is affordably priced at RM500 for those who are PCEB's industry partners.

For the non-member, the registration fee is RM600 and there is a fixed rate of RM100 for students, lecturers and academicians, as well as 10 per cent discount from the initial fee for group registration of three persons and above.

Registration for BE@Penang and the ICCA Asia Pacific Summit can be made via the conference and summit websites, and, respectively or contact 04-2616161.
