MetMalaysia issues warning over tropical storm Nakri

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8  -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued a warning over tropical storm Nakri that is expected to hit Sabah waters.

It said in a statement that strong winds and rough seas are likely to occur some 603 km northwest of Kudat, Sabah.

As at 11 am, the tropical storm was located about 540 km southwest of Manila, Philippines, and was moving in the southwest direction.

The speed of the tropical storm could reach 108 km per hour, MetMalaysia said.
