KISMEC to offer industry 4.0 Training Programme

Last Update: 12/11/2019

ALOR SETAR, Nov 11  -- The Kedah Industrial Skills and Management Centre (KISMEC) has been selected as the first institute outside Germany to offer the Industry 4.0 Specialist Training Programme developed in that country.

The training programme was developed by German's leading engineering company Bosch in collaboration with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Region Stuttgart and the country's industry players in 2017.

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir said the programme which would be monitored by The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce (MGCC) was aimed at producing a highly skilled workforce and graduates in the country.

“This is the first time the programme is allowed to be offered outside Germany. There is no need to go Germany (to take up the programme),” he told a press conference after launching the MGCC Industry 4.0 Specialist Training Programme here today.

Also present was German ambassador to Malaysia Nikolaus Graf Lambsdorff.

Mukhriz said once the trainees successfully completed the short-term programme, they would be given a certificate which later could be used to find jobs in the industrial sector not only in Germany but also in Japan.
