Isa Samad orders FICSB CEO to study hotel purchase in Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16  -- Former Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FICSB) chief executive officer told the High Court that he had asked the company’s Hospitality Division to conduct a study on the purchase of Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites (MPHS) in Kuching, Sarawak, after receiving an instruction from former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad.

Mohd Zaid Abdul Jalil, 48, said this when reading his witness statement on the sixth day of Mohd Isa’s trial for criminal breach of trust and corruption involving more than RM3 million in the purchase of the MPHS before Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali

The 15th witness said he received the instruction to conduct a study on the purchase of the hotel from Mohd Isa through the minutes of a meeting held between September and October 2013.....
