Homeless man with knife in public sentenced to five years' jail

KUALA LUMPUR,  Aug 27 -- The Sessions Court here today sentenced a homeless man to five years’ jail for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place without a valid permit.

Judge Emelia Kaswati Mohamad Khalid handed down the sentence on Mohd Jamal Idris, 39, who pleaded guilty to the offence for possession of a  35-cm long knife.....

IP on SRC submitted directly to AG - High Court told


 The High Court here was told today that the investigation paper (IP) on  SRC International Sdn Bhd was submitted directly to then Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali without going through the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) deputy public prosecutor (DPP) because it was a special case.

 
 

Businessman Tan applies to postpone hearing of corruption case


The High Court here today set Sept 17 to hear an application by businessman Datuk Tan Eng Boon to postpone the hearing of his corruption case,  which is to be heard jointly with former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor ‘s case  pertaining to an application by a company to increase the plot ratio for development in Jalan Semarak.

 
 

Sept 23 hearing for Riza Aziz's application to transfer case to High Court


The High Court here today set Sept 23 to hear the defence's application to transfer the case of Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz, the stepson of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on money laundering charges amounting to US$248 million (RM1.25 billion), allegedly misappropriated from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) from the Sessions Court to the High Court.
