Allowances for practical students is necessary - Syed Saddiq

SHAH ALAM, July 22 (Bernama) -- The allowances for students of higher learning institutions (IPTs) who undergo practical training in the industry were necessary, in order to reduce their financial burden in continuing the training programme, said Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

He noted that not many students could afford to undergo practical training within a certain period of time.....

Sabotage suspected in Sungai Selangor diesel pollution


KUALA SELANGOR, July 22 (Bernama) -- The Selangor government suspects sabotage in the diesel pollution of Sungai Selangor that forced the shutdown of four water treatment plants yesterday, leaving more than one million people in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur without piped water.

 
 

Sungai Selangor, Rantau Panjang water treatment plants resume operations


SHAH ALAM, July 22 (Bernama) -- Operations at the Sungai Selangor phases 1, 2 and 3 and the Rantau Panjang water treatment plants which were shut down yesterday due to diesel pollution have been resumed at about 3.30 a.m today.

 
 

Operations of four water treatment plants halted


KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd said that pollution from diesel oil had been found at the intake of the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, 2 and 3 (LRA SSP1, LRA SSP2 and LRA SSP3) and the Rantau Panjang LRA from the raw water of Sungai Selangor.

 
 

Water supply restored completely in Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and KL


KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Water supply has been restored completely to Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, while the resumption rate for all other affected areas ranged between 81 per cent and 98 per cent, as at 6pm this evening.

Water pollution: SPAN will investigate, take action - Xavier Jayakumar


PUTRAJAYA, July 21 (Bernama) -- The National Water Services Commission (SPAN) will open an investigation paper and take action on those who are identified responsible for the odour pollution in the Sungai Selangor raw water source causing three of Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) water treatment plants to be shut down last Friday (19th July).
