Residents in 4 districts in Terengganu warned against worsening flood situation

KUALA NERUS, Dec 18 -- The residents in Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu and Dungun in Terengganu are advised to be more vigilant in the face of another wave of floods which is expected to be so much worse than the previous situation.    

Terengganu Disaster Management Committee secretariat head Lt Col. Che Adam A Rahman said heavy rains early this morning had caused the water level in rivers in the four districts rose above the alert level. 

He said that to reporters after the Malaysian Civil Defence Force training session at the Gong Badak Indoor Stadium Lake here today. 

Two rivers were currently reported had surpassed the danger level, namely Sungai Dungun in Kuala Jengkai and Sungai Berang in Kampung Menerong, Hulu Terengganu.
