Mainland Penang floods: 11 return home, 109 still in centres

TASEK GELUGOR, May 10 (Bernama) --  A total of 109 flood victims from 20 families, at 6pm today, are still seeking shelter at two evacuation centres in Butterworth and Merbau Kudung, here after flood waters  showed no signs of receding in their respective residential areas. 

Penang Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said 74 residents from 13 families are still placed at the Dewan Muhibbah evacuation centre in Merbau Kudung, Sungai Dua here.

"Eleven more from two families who were there have been allowed to return home after flood waters receded in their areas,” he said when contacted today.....
