Bamboo among alternatives being looked at to replace conventional piling

MELAKA, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- The geotechnical research team from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is studying the use of bamboo, natural fibre and certain waste products to replace conventional piling work at construction sites.

The research team’s associate member Dr Khairul Anuar Kassim said the materials were an alternative method of strengthening the structure and reduce the risk of settlement.....
