Only one treated for breathing difficulties in Pasir Gudang today

JOHOR BAHRU, July 8 (Bernama) -- Only one patient obtained treatment at Masai Health Clinic for breathing difficulties and vomiting as at 4 pm today, says State Health, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar

He said no patients were warded and so far the situation in Pasir Gudang which was hit by pollution problems since June 20, is under control.          

“On the overall, the Department of Environment (DOE) had investigated and taken actions against 221 industrial premises for various offences under the Environmental Quality Act 1974,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Khuzzan said to date, 116 compounds were issued to premises for violations on scheduled waste, industrial effluents as well as notices to comply with environmental laws.....
