Students more cautious following toxic fumes incident

JOHOR BAHRU, March 11 (Bernama) -- Students of the two schools which were ordered to close following toxic fumes incident caused by chemical dumping in Sungai Kim Kim last Thursday, were seen exercising safety precautions as they returned to school today. 

The schools Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Pasir Putih and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pasir Putih, near Pasir Gudang reopened today after they were directed to temporarily shut down from last Thursday.

SK Taman Pasir Putih Malay language teacher Elizawaty Ramlee said the pupils were more cautious after what happened following the pollution incident last week.....

13 climbers who got lost scaling gunung berlumut rescued

SK Pasir Puteh, SMK Pasir Putih to open tomorrow


JOHOR BAHRU,  March 10  (Bernama) --  Sekolah Kebangsaan Pasir Puteh and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pasir Putih, near Pasir Gudang, which were closed last Thursday due to air pollution caused by chemical dumping in Sungai Kimkim is confirmed safe, said Johor Education Department deputy director Azman Adnan.

Source of Sungai Chohong pollution tracked down


MELAKA, March 9 (Bernama) – Following numerous public complaints about Sungai Chohong in Jasin all of a sudden turning black and stinking, the Melaka Department of Environment (DOE) launched an investigation and believes the source of pollution is chicken breeding activities and a waste disposal site on the border between Johor and Melaka.
