STARTUPS MUST HAVE THE COURAGE TO CHANGE FOR GLOBAL MARKET FORAY

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3  -- Entrepreneurs, especially startup companies, must have the courage to stand out from the crowd in facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) and to explore the global market.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said entrepreneurs should not be worried about adapting to changes as the government is ready to help them in various aspects, including providing advisory services, financing and exposure to external markets.

“Changes would help, build and project us to a different level, a level where Malaysians are seen as competitors at global stage.

“As such, it is important for the government to be aware of the needs of the new and startup industries and how we can help them to succeed,” he said at the Global Acceleration and Innovation Network (GAIN) Discussion and Showcase here today.

GAIN is an initiative under the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation to boost the growth of Malaysian technology companies both regionally and globally.

Meanwhile, Gobind also urged government-linked companies and giant companies to trust and invest in local startup companies which have proven to be successful to help them upscale their business.
