KUMPULAN PERANGSANG SELANGOR BHD's (KPS) net profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2021 (Q3 FY2021) rose to RM25.65 million from RM16.16 million posted in the same quarter last year.

Revenue improved 19 per cent to RM360.10 million from RM302.34 million previously on steady sales across its manufacturing business and positive momentum in manufacturing activities locally and globally,  KPS said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

On its prospects, the group said it will continue to take a more sustainable price-to-cost position by expanding the cost-pass-through mechanism to a more extensive customer base while supporting demand to help it manage the volatility.

PETRONAS’ inaugural FutureTalks dialogue ended yesterday on a positive note with strengthened commitment for collaboration among thought leaders in paving a holistic way towards a carbon-neutral future.

In a statement today, Petronas said the two-day dialogue, comprising six panel discussions themed ‘Stewardship in Energy Sustainability with Technology, Research and Development’, saw the convergence of innovative insights and presentation of synergistic opportunities that could facilitate the energy transition.

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Muhammad Taufik said all parties must be committed to an unprecedented level of collaboration in ensuring a sustainable future through the energy transition.

"There are many areas of cooperation that can be further explored, such as technology which unlocks prospects in renewable energy and carbon emission reduction efforts," he said.

COMMERZ TRADE SERVICES KL (CTS KL) has announced a strategic partnership with InvestKL to increase Commerzbank’s footprint in Malaysia by building up its global business service (GBS) hub.

CTS KL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Commerzbank AG.

In a joint statement today, both parties said the partnership builds a solid foundation and signals a clear basis for both entities to collaborate towards the successful execution of the business plan whilst boosting the the Malaysian economy.

"Having agreed to collaborate alongside various proposals specified in the Letter of Intent (LOI) and with InvestKL’s engagement, this path is pivotal in executing the new strategy accordingly," they said.

SME BANK is expanding collaboration with the Malaysia Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) for its Asnaf Entrepreneurship Programme (ISHRAF), involving Asnaf entrepreneurs from six states.

In a statement today, SME Bank said the programme was an initiative for the development of micro and small Asnaf entrepreneurs that will enable them to improve their skills and abilities to grow, expand and sustain their businesses by adopting digital technology.

"Apart from that, in line with the Shared Prosperity Vision and the Keluarga Malaysia concepts, they are also targeted to move out of from the zakat recipients’ category to become zakat payers," the bank said.

THE NATIONAL TECH ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA (PIKOM) has appointed Sean Seah as the new chairman for the 2021-2022 term, effective immediately, taking over from Danny Lee who had completed his maximum two-year tenure.

In a statement today, Seah said he was honoured to take on the role as chairman and will continue building on the good work that has been done.

"2022 will be a momentous year as Malaysia hosts the World Congress on information technology.

"This is the best opportunity for us to showcase Malaysia to the world, let’s work together to deliver an exceptional experience,” he said.
