KUANTAN, Jan 25 -- The German Business Council (GBC), a networking platform for participants to exchange ideas, started its operation here last week, said German Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Peter Blomeyer.
He said the GBC here, which now has about 20 participants, was the fourth after Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor.
“We do have companies in Pahang such as Mercedes-Benz (in Pekan) and BASF (German chemical company). Then why not we established GBC here for them to build network, exchange economic views and get to know the current rules of COVID-19 pandemic, besides providing any relevant information.
“With the opening of this GBC, I see it as one of the contributing factors to (having) more investors in the East Coast in future,” he told reporters here today.
Bolmeyer, who visited Perak earlier, is on a 10-day working visit to Pahang until Jan 30.
He hoped that German companies can cooperate with local universities to share knowledge and expertise.
