SHARP MALAYSIA TO HELP TEACHERS ADOPT NEW DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHING

BACHOK, May 15 (Bernama) -- Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Sharp Malaysia) today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yayasan Guru Malaysia Berhad (YGMB) to support teachers in enhancing their digital skills to adopt the new digital solutions for innovative teaching in the national schools across Malaysia.

Sharp Malaysia Managing Director Ting Yang Chung said they are glad to launch the training programmes with YGMB whose aim is to support and maintain educational practitioners’ welfare in all aspects.

"We also aim to provide an interactive and virtual environment for students and help them better engage with school’s subjects by implementing Sharp’s Smart Classroom Solution. 

"The training programme will guide teachers on the usage of Sharp’s interactive whiteboard (smartboard) more effectively when engaging with students. This will also empower teachers to adopt new digital classroom solutions at national schools,” he said after the MoU signing ceremony held at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Bachok, here today.

Ting represented Sharp Malaysia while YGMB was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Wan Munadi Wan Mamat.

Ting also said the integration of technologies into classroom learning is being promoted and supported as it leads to enhanced learning outcomes for the students, adding that the company has been working with educators to provide national schools with digital solutions to ensure the students receive a high-quality education. 

"With Sharp’s Smart Classroom Solution implemented in national schools, we strongly believe that the new ways of teaching and learning will have a positive impact on the teachers and students for a better educational environment. 

"We remain focused on our efforts to continue working with educators and providing smart solutions to ensure that no student gets left behind and improve Malaysia’s educational environment by leveraging our expertise," he said.

Meanwhile, Senior Executive Managing Officer of Sharp Corporation Japan, Yoshihiro Hashimoto said with the COVID-19 pandemic, digital transformation in the education field is accelerating with the 'new normal' of online classes and video conference solutions.

“It is an honour to be given this opportunity to contribute to the education sector in Malaysia, and support development for the future generation.
