H3C: MALAYSIA MUST DEVELOP COMPREHENSIVE MECHANISM FOR 5G DEPLOYMENT

19/05/2022 07:52 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysia must develop a more comprehensive approach to address its digital transformation, covering both indoor and outdoor fifth generation (5G) coverage, said H3C Technology Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd international business development-Malaysia division managing director Rockies Ma Mun Chow.

Ma said the 5G rollout in Malaysia is primarily focused on establishing infrastructure for outdoor coverage, but he emphasised that indoor coverage is equally as important as outdoor coverage as indoors have recorded a tremendous amount of data traffic.

“As for indoor 5G, we can play a role in optimising indoor coverage by installing indoor 5Gpico cells and we are in discussions with partners to build an ecosystem,” Ma said during H3C Malaysia roundtable discussion, titled “Addressing Digital Transformation Dilemmas Amongst Enterprises" today.

He added that a 5G policy must be developed to meet the needs and demands of the business community and that the government must provide a clearer policy as technology is highly beneficial to the nation's economy.

Commenting on the single wholesale network for 5G deployment, he said the mechanism is innovative and would result in infrastructure cost savings as there would be no duplication.

“However the outcome of the mechanism is still uncertain as it could be beneficial or detrimental as few countries have implemented it,” he added.

In response to a question about H3C's strategy for Malaysia, Ma said the company is committed to developing and executing an ecosystem and technology oriented market strategy that focuses on building a healthy ecosystem and providing scenario-based solutions to help accelerate the digital transformation from the perspectives of technology innovation, ecosystem health and scenario understanding.

“We are focusing on introducing our products to businesses, universities and the banking sector, and will gradually introduce them to the local market.”

H3C is one of the world's fastest growing vendors as its WLAN, Ethernet, switches and routers are ranked among the top four in terms of global market share.

“We cannot introduce all of our products to the Malaysian market at once, but rather we will introduce them one by one,” he added.

H3C, a leader in digital solutions, is committed to delivering scenario-based digital solutions that are low-carbon, energy-efficient and sustainable by continuously upgrading the technology and training the personnel.

In the future, H3C planned to collaborate closely with global customers and business partners to ensure the success of a digital future driven by technological innovation, putting in place all the necessary elements to ensure the world's digital economy is fully sustainable.
