GEORGE TOWN, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair Penang is aiming to generate RM20 million in sales and attract 30,000 visitors when the fair returns after two years due to the pandemic.

MATTA Penang chapter chairman Vergis Mathews said the two-day fair will host 160 booths, with 60 per cent of the booths focusing on domestic tourism, and 30 per cent promoting international tourism and packages.

"After two years, Matta Fair will return to Penang and we are targeting around RM20 million in sales turnover," he told reporters here today.

MATTA Fair, which is regarded as Malaysia's largest travel fair, will be returning to Penang at SPICE Setia Arena on Aug 20 and 21.

Mathews said the fair will offer over 80 travel options to choose from, including cruise lines of the Royal Caribbean and Genting Cruise.

"Buses will also be provided from mainland to SPICE Setia Arena at no cost to reduce the traffic flow," he said.
