AMMB SHARES ON BURSA MALAYSIA UP ON BETTER Q1 NET PROFIT

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- AMMB Holdings Bhd's (AmBank Group) shares on Bursa Malaysia went up in the early session today following its positive financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2022, for financial year 2023 (Q1 2023).

At 10.18 am, the counter rose 5.0 sen to RM4.04 with 449,900 shares changing hands.

On Wednesday, the bank announced that its net profit rose by 8.4 per cent to RM419.20 million in Q1 2023 from RM386.60 million in Q1 2022.

AmBank Group chief executive officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said the group kicked off the new financial year with a solid performance amid a challenging macro and geopolitical environment,

“I am particularly pleased with our performance in wholesale, retail, business and Islamic banking, which reflects our continued strong fundamentals amidst market volatility,” he said in a statement yesterday.
