PETRONAS DAGANGAN APPOINTS NEW CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 (Bernama) --  Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PetDag) has announced the appointment of Khalil Jaffri Muhammad Muri as its new chief operating officer (COO) effective Sept 1, 2022.

​​​In this new role, Khalil will oversee and steer PetDag’s diverse business operations and support the execution of the company’s strategic business ventures as it continues to grow its non-fuel business, said PDB.

Prior to his appointment as COO, Khalil served as PetDag’s head of retail business where he led numerous transformation and digitalisation initiatives to create new revenue streams and accelerate growth in the non-fuel segment, the company said in a statement here today.

His key achievements include the expansion of retail offerings at Kedai Mesra for enhanced customer experience and the incorporation of Mesra Retail & Café Sdn Bhd to further strengthen and diversify PetDag’s retail business propositions.

Khalil also drove PetDag’s efforts to create a positive social impact through the company’s ‘Love Local’ campaign that provides small local businesses a platform at Kedai Mesra to market their brands and products, thus supporting Malaysia’s post-pandemic economic recovery.

Khalil, who was a Petronas scholar, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University, US, and has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

He has helmed several positions within the Petronas Group across petrochemicals, liquefied natural gas, crude oil, and petroleum products, and has built expertise in corporate planning and development, operations, commercial, marketing, and economics.
