MALAYSIAN EMPLOYERS FEDERATION’s (MEF) president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman was re-elected as the president at MEF’s first council meeting following the annual general meeting that was held today.

In a statement, it said Syed Hussain, who will lead the federation for the term 2022-2024, had retained the MEF presidency for the second consecutive term since 2020.

The four elected vice presidents are Mohd Farid Shah Mohd Basir, Mohd Syukri Ahmad Sudari, Anne Kung Soo Ching and Nik Mustapha Nik Mohamed while Datuk Ahmad Nadzarudin Abdul Razak was re-elected as the honorary treasurer.

FARM FRESH BHD has teamed up with Jaya Grocer for the “Milk on Tap@Jaya Grocer” initiative by encouraging consumers to buy fresh milk in returnable and reusable glass bottles.

Founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Loi Tuan Ee said consumers at Jaya Grocer 163 Retail Park, Mont Kiara can get fresh milk dispensed into Farm Fresh glass bottles at the same price of RM7.90 per litre with only a one-time payment of RM3 per empty bottle.

“They can return the bottle at their next purchase in exchange for a newly-filled bottle,” he said in a joint statement with Jaya Grocer today.

STANDARD CHARTERED MALAYSIA launched SmartStocks, a one-stop online share trading platform, bringing clients the convenience of trading on 12 exchanges across seven global markets from Malaysia via one account on any web-enabled or smart device.

Among the accessible stock exchanges namely Bursa Malaysia, Singapore Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Australian Stock Exchange and Tokyo Stock Exchange.

ENRA GROUP BHD’s subsidiary, Enra SPM Sdn Bhd, has bagged a contract from Gulf Petroleum Myanmar for the provision of condensate storage, offloading facilities and services for Yetagun offshore operations, Myanmar worth US$4.39 million (US$1=RM4.48).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the contract is effective from Aug 30, 2022 and the charter period would be effective upon commissioning of the system and should continue for a period of six months.

It added that the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending March 31, 2023.

CAELY HOLDINGS BHD has announced the resignation of its chief executive officer Lim Chee Pang.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said Lim resigned from the post to pursue other interest.

VORTEX CONSOLIDATED BHD has proposed to re-allocate up to RM27.98 million of the un-utilised proceeds raised from the rights issues and the private placement for part of the purchase consideration of 187 units of proposed serviced apartments at Genting Highlands for RM246.35 million cash .

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Vortex said its wholly owned subsidiary Majestic Skyhill Management Sdn Bhd has signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement with Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd in relation to the acquisition. The company had on Aug 29, 2022 obtained shareholders’ approval for the acquisition at its extraordinary general meeting.

“The acquisition is expected to be completed by the third quarter of calendar year 2025,” it added.

The company had raised a total gross proceed of approximately RM54.89 million from the rights issues.

RAMSSOL GROUP BHD has appointed Khadijah Iskandar as an independent and non-executive director effective immediately.

Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Cllement Tan Chee Seng said Khadijah will add to the breadth of diverse experience and expertise to drive the company’s future aspirations given her previous stint as the deputy president and chief executive officer of Agrobank and with over 25 years of experience in financial services in both local and international establishments.

“Her appointment is a welcomed addition to the board of Ramssol as this will bring our female board representation to 28.57 per cent, which is close to our target of having 30 per cent of women on the board and an indication of further progress in gender diversity,” he added in a statement.

Khadijah will be leading the nomination committee within the company and she would hold positions in the audit committee, risk management committee and remuneration committee.
