TAIWAN FOOD TOUR AWAITS VISITORS AT 1UTAMA SHOPPING CENTRE

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Taiwan Economic Affairs Ministry’s administrative agency, will lead 25 selected food and beverage companies to the Taiwan Food Tour Pop-Up Shop in 1Utama Shopping Centre from Oct 26 to Oct 30, 2022.

The five main categories are health-boosting food, prepared food, condiments, beverages and snacks.

The products being featured include iTi Superior Taste Award-winning Xiluo Datong Soy Sauce, Chien Hsiang Alkaline Water, and Yuan Long Tang teas; Taiwan’s leading exported sesame oil from Flavor Full, winter melon tea brick from Lao Tao Ke; 100 per cent additive-free dried fruits from Chao Hsiang, Hahn Shyuan Taiwanese rice cakes, agricultural products from Chen Jiah Juang; plant-based meat from Hoya Foods, as well as Hung Chan canned foods.

Visitors will be able to sample many products and experience the different flavours of Taiwan, a TAITRA statement said today.

"Taiwan has long been famous for its teas, pineapple tarts and ‘boba’ milk tea, and this event is the perfect opportunity to discover the next big hit," the statement said.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office economic division director in Malaysia James Chang said Taiwan's products of diverse tastes and packaging are generally well-received by Malaysians. 

Taiwanese food products have long-term development potential here with plenty of business opportunities.

"The organisers hope this pop-up event will generate valuable feedback and references for Taiwanese companies thinking of venturing into the Malaysian market," he said.

The five-day Taiwan Food Tour Pop-Up event is located in the Old Wing centre court on the first floor.
