MALAYSIA'S GENTARI ACTIVATES FIRST CHARGING POINTS IN THAILAND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH EVOLT

KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) -- Malaysian clean energy company Gentari Sdn Bhd, via its unit Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, and Bangkok-based electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure provider Evolt Technology Company Limited (Evolt) have activated their first jointly installed EV charging points in Bangkok, Thailand.

The installation of the new charging points followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Gentari and Evolt earlier this year.

The tie-up will see the two companies collaborating to explore new areas of co-development and co-investment in the expansion of EV charging infrastructure, as well as other potential green mobility and clean energy solutions across Southeast Asia.

Chief mobility officer of Gentari, Shah Yang Razalli, stated that the collaboration with Evolt has been “thrilling, as they leverage their market leadership to propel Gentari's maiden venture into regional infrastructure development in Southeast Asia.”

“Our bigger goal is to bolster our green mobility network across key markets in the Asia Pacific, and this partnership plays a crucial role in achieving that objective while driving the transition towards sustainable mobility in the region,” Shah said in a joint statement today by the two companies.

Evolt chief operating officer Kanchalerm Earsakul said the launch of the Gentari charging station represented a significant milestone in their commitment to provide convenient, reliable, and sustainable charging options for electric vehicle owners.

“This station is the latest example of our dedication to innovation and sustainability, and we are proud to offer our customers cutting-edge technology and exceptional service,” said Earsakul.

Evolt’s network comprises more than 10,000 installed alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) chargers across Thailand’s 77 provinces
