KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) has partnered with Asia Mobility Technologies Sdn Bhd (Asia Mobiliti), a leading Mobility-as-a-Service company in Malaysia, to provide a seamless travel experience to its passengers.

In a joint statement today, the companies said that through this collaboration, KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services for journey planning and ticketing are now included in Asia Mobiliti’s Trek app.

They said Trek users who have been able to book Demand-Responsive Transit (DRT) rides can now seamlessly plan their journeys across Greater Kuala Lumpur with a multimodal combination of city buses, rail services, driving to park and ride sites, real-time parking availability, ERL’s airport rail services, KLIA inter-terminal shuttle bus and hyper localised walking directions.

“ERL passengers gain the seamless experience of planning their journeys to KLIA and purchasing KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit tickets within the Trek app with cashless payment methods (e-Wallet, debit and credit cards).

“Purchased tickets are delivered within the Trek app with a QR code, allowing passengers to board their train ride with in-app QR code scanning at the gates,” the statement said.

ERL chief executive officer (CEO) Noormah Mohd Noor said that it has always been ERL’s commitment to constantly exploring innovative technologies that will benefit and provide value-added services to our passengers.

“Working with Asia Mobiliti gives us the option to provide sustainable solutions for our passengers to plan their travel needs effortlessly,” she added.

Meanwhile, CEO and co-founder of Asia Mobiliti Ramachandran Muniandy said that the Trek app is a significant milestone towards the company’s mobility-as-a-service vision for cities like Kuala Lumpur.

“Launching this with ERL makes it extra special as the airport rail service is inherently multimodal in nature – first/last-mile, rail and flight,” he said.

ERL and Asia Mobiliti said users could expect more transport services and new modes to be included in the digital multimodal network, such as micro-mobility, ride-hailing, and inter-city buses

Trek App is available in Google Play and Apple App stores. Visit for more information.
