KULAI, 23 Nov (Bernama) -- The Johor government has expressed hope that existing and upcoming mega projects in the state will be continued under the incoming new federal government.

The state’s chairman of the investment, trade and consumer affairs committee, Lee Ting Han, said projects in the state, such as the award of special status to the Pengerang petrochemicals hub as announced in Budget 2023, benefit not only Johor but the country as well.

“Hence, the state government will continue to work with the Ministry of Finance to ensure these projects are continued,” he told the media after a groundbreaking ceremony for the headquarters of Sun Bus Tech in Senai Airport City here today.

Lee said he hopes that the incoming federal government will prioritise the people even if the Johor and federal governments are from different political parties.

“We believe that the incoming federal government will be professional and the civil servants here will cooperate,” he added.

On investment in the state, Lee said investors have adopted a wait-and-see stance pending the formation of the federal government.
