Puteri Sarah's Suit Against Ira Kazar's Former Sister-in-law Settled

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30  (Bernama) -- The defamation lawsuit filed by Puteri Sarah against Wiwi Darvinda Mazwena Mazlan was amicably resolved after the latter, who is a former sister-in-law of Ira Kazar, issued a formal apology in the Sessions Court today.

Wiwi Darvinda apologised to Puteri Sarah, whose real name is Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin, before Judge Yasmin Abdul Razak.

"I, Wiwi Darvinda Mazwena Mazlan, regret and apologise to Puteri Sarah for my posts on my Instagram on Aug 24, 2023," she said and the two women shook hands.

Judge Yasmin then recorded the terms of the settlement between them.

Also present during the proceedings were lawyers Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader and Ammar Ghalip, representing Puteri Sarah and Wiwi Darvinda, respectively.

According to the draft agreement, Wiwi Darvinda expressed regret over what had transpired and to apologise to Puteri Sarah in an open court, as well as not to upload, publish, broadcast, or share any information, news, or allegations about Puteri Sarah, her family members, or companies associated with her on any media platform.

Wiwi Darvinda is also required to issue an unconditional apology to Puteri Sarah through a post on her Instagram account for seven days. The apology must be uploaded immediately on the date the judgment is recorded.

She also has to pay RM5,000 to Puteri Sarah for the settlement of the lawsuit.

Puteri Sarah, 39, filed the lawsuit on Aug 30 of last year, claiming that Wiwi Darvinda made inappropriate statements on Instagram regarding her marriage to her ex-husband, Syamsul Yusof.
