KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) -- The police have opened disciplinary investigation papers against five police personnel suspected of involvement in a recent blackmail incident involving a Taiwanese woman in the SS2 area of Petaling Jaya.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shahrulnizam Jaafar said the case is being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code.
They had been arrested, but later released, and transferred to other departments pending the investigation, he said when contacted here today.
It was previously reported that a Taiwanese woman, through a social media post, claimed to have been blackmailed by police personnel when stopped at a roadblock in the SS2 area, Petaling Jaya, on July 7.
