KUANTAN, April 15 (Bernama) -- The Pahang Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized 14,870 litres of diesel worth over RM80,000 during Ops Tiris 4.0 at a construction site here last Monday.
Pahang KPDN chief enforcement officer Md Zaki Abd Samad said initial investigations revealed that the diesel stored in a skid tank was believed to have been used for operating construction machinery.
“During the operation, the company failed to produce a valid storage permit for the site, despite holding a permit for a separate location,” he said in a statement today.
Md Zaki said Pahang KPDN had, therefore, taken a stern action by seizing the diesel and related equipment under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 (Act 122).
He urged all parties to strictly adhere to the conditions of permits and licences, and to refrain from misusing the subsidies provided by the government.
“Strict action will be taken without compromise against any party attempting to exploit the government’s subsidy system,” he said.
