TUMPAT, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, attended the recital of Yasin and Tahlil prayer event held at the Al-Ismaili Mosque in Pasir Pekan here tonight in conjunction with his 55th birthday celebration.
The Ruler arrived at the mosque at 7.15 pm and joined approximately 1,000 congregants in performing Maghrib prayers, led by Kelantan mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad.
Also gracing the event were Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra and Tengku Temenggong of Kelantan Tengku Tan Sri Mohamad Rizam Tengku Abdul Aziz.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud was also present.
The ceremony proceeded with solat hajat (prayer of need), followed by the recitation of Yasin and Tahlil prayers before concluding with congregational Isyak prayers.
Sultan Muhammad V then spent some time mingling with the congregation before leaving at 9.00 pm.
