Bernama Wins Minister's Special Award, Five Others At KPKT Akemedia Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) was awarded the KPKT Minister’s Special Award worth RM10,000, along with five other awards at the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s (KPKT) Media Excellence Awards (AkeMedia)  2024 ceremony here tonight.

Bernama journalist Hasnah Jusid won second place in the Best Social Media Content Award, taking home RM2,000 while Kelantan Bureau journalist Mohd Noor Iqram Rosli was third in the same category and took home RM1,000.

Also, Bernama Radio hosts Nur Syazwani Bakhtiar Azam and Mohd Hirzee Mohamad won first place for Best Radio Broadcast Award and took home RM3,000.

Finally,  Bernama Perak Bureau photographer Zulfadhli Zulkarnain won first place in the Best Photojournalism Award and took home RM3,000, and Kelantan Bureau photographer Muhammad Mustaqim Khairuddin won second in the same category, taking home RM2,000.

Bernama chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said the awards were a form of recognition for Bernama’s support in all programmes and events organised by KPKT.

“This proves that KPKT acknowledges Bernama’s function in producing news that provides comprehensive publicity for the ministry.

“Thank you to the ministry for this honour and congratulations to the Bernama journalists and photographers who won tonight,” she said.

Earlier, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming shared in his speech that AkeMedia was his ministry’s platform to honour the role and noble efforts of journliasts in conveying his ministry’s main agenda.

He said that the organising of AkeMedia was done with the collaboration of the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) and not only focused on the quality and presentation of reports but also the integrity of data and facts.

“We will ensure AkeMedia not only will continue but will be improved in time,” he added.
