BEIJING, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- Celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, the Education Malaysia Beijing (EMB) office organised the ‘Malaysia-China Youth Leadership Camp’ in Xi'an, to strengthen student relations.

The three-day programme from Nov 28 to 30, themed 'Vibrant Youth, Setting Sail and Heading to the Future,' saw the participation of 60 students and served as a step toward developing well-rounded talents, while also promoting Malaysia's national arts and culture in China.

The Malaysian Embassy in China chargé d'affaires Norfarina Mohd Azmee, stated that the camp offered an excellent opportunity for students to connect, exchange ideas, and build lasting friendships that will benefit their future endeavours.

"These selected students excel not only in academics but also in human intellect, problem-solving abilities, and creative innovation in addressing societal issues.

"The future talents we aim to nurture are not only knowledgeable and highly skilled but also grounded in cultural values, embodying the concept of 'Excellence with Soul' in shaping national talent.

“This can be accomplished through participation in student exchange programmes, which will expand their horizons and provide valuable cultural experiences, preparing them for future leadership roles,” she said in a statement today.

The programme, a collaboration between the Malaysian Consulate General in Xi'an, Xi'an International University, and Lianhu Honglu Cultural Exchange Centre, with support from the Malaysian Embassy in China and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, featured a range of activities, including diplomatic talks, cultural performances, and educational visits.
