31/10/2025 06:11 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- The iconic KL Hop-On Hop-Off (KL HOHO) bus, operated by Elang Wah Sdn Bhd, has been rebranded as ‘Ronda-Ronda Kuala Lumpur’, offering tourists an immersive sightseeing experience with artificial intelligence-driven commentary in over 20 languages.

Elang Wah chief executive officer Syed Azhar Syed Nadzir said the system provides real-time narration and guided tours in multiple languages, including Malay, Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, Korean and Spanish.

“Six new double-decker buses with a fully open design were launched today, with another four set to join the fleet next year.

“The total investment for the entire bus fleet is RM12 million. This is part of preparations for Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026,” he said at a press conference for the launch of the Kuala Lumpur Calendar of Events (COE) 2026, officiated by Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif here today.

He said the bus also features high-speed 4G/5G Wi-Fi, the latest security system with high-definition CCTV coverage, and comprehensive passenger insurance, ensuring the safety and comfort of all users.

“In terms of design, the bus offers ergonomic seating and ambient lighting ideal for night tours, making every trip comfortable, stylish and exclusive,” he said.

Syed Azhar said the rebranding of the service gives it a new identity that reflects the local spirit and the relaxed experience of exploring the federal capital.

“This rebranding represents a renewed commitment to exclusivity and Malaysian pride, making Ronda-Ronda Kuala Lumpur a city tour to be enjoyed by all,” he said.

The newly introduced buses are MAN Euro 6 models, built by Gemilang Coachwork on a MAN RR3 440 chassis, positioning Elang Wah as Malaysia’s only city tour operator meeting Europe’s top carbon emission standards.

Meanwhile, Maimunah said a total of 35 major events will be held throughout next year, including the Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning (KLCFM), KUL Fit, KL Street Jam, Santai Seni @ TAR, KL Cultural Nitez and KL Chamber Concert.

Other highlights include the KUL Vibes Carnival, Kuala Lumpur Orchestra Festival (FOKL), KL Park Festival (KLPF), Kuala Lumpur Theatre Festival (PTKL) and the Merdeka and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Maimunah added that Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) would launch several new community-focused initiatives in 2026, such as the Community Music Programme with the Elderly, Gema Tradisi Nuansa and KL River Soul.

“The KL Cultural Nitez programme will continue with a new approach through collaboration with Think City, the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, featuring traditional Malay theatre performances, as well as workshops and interactive exhibitions,” she said.

Today’s event also saw the launch of the VisitKL song and video, with DBKL unveiling a tourism-themed song for the first time titled ‘Jom Lepak KL’.
