Darul Hanan Care Centre residents, staff completed second screening

KEPALA BATAS, Oct 21 -- All residents and staff of Darul Hanan Care Centre near Pongsu Seribu here have completed the second COVID-19 screening yesterday, and they are not allowed to go out from the centre until the results are known.

Penang Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) president Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abd Rahman said the centre is being tightly controlled by the authorities and movements in and out of this area are banned, except for delivery of food and other necessities. 

“A total of 79 residents and 33 staff of the centre had undergone the second COVID-19 screening yesterday and we hope the results will be negative. In the first screening, eight of its residents were tested negative,” he said when contacted today.

The first COVID-19 positive case at the old folks’ home was linked to the Alma Cluster and to date, the cluster had recorded 17 positive cases.
