Floods: Only 439 evacuees at five relief centres in Batu Pahat tonight
BATU PAHAT, March 23 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims in this district dropped from 444 people at 4 pm to 439 as of 8 pm today, said the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN).
It said in a statement that only five temporary relief centres are still operating, housing 122 families.
The five centres are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Medan (240 evacuees), Sekolah Agama (SA) Seri Bertam (six), Yong Peng Community Hall (118), Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Hua Min (21) and SA Seri Comel (54).
It also said that Sungai Bekok in Empangan Bekok was at the warning level of 19.01 metres this evening.
The weather is expected to be cloudy in Johor Bahru and Pontian and bright in the other eight districts
