KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives retreated to close lower on Thursday.
At the end of the trading day, the August 2024 contract fell to US$2,521.30 per troy ounce from US$2,541.20 at Wednesday’s close and September 2024 slipped to US$2,525.00 per troy ounce against US$2,544.90 previously.
Meanwhile, the October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 notes all settled weaker at US$2,527.30 per troy ounce against US$2,544.90 previously.
The volume slipped to three lots from 13 lots yesterday, while open interest decreased to 43 contracts from 54 contracts previously.
The price of physical gold stood at US$2,497.95 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Aug 21.
