Adabi sponsors halal food for Malaysian media covering SEA Games

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 -- The difficulty in obtaining halal food in the Philippines is one of the major challenges for media personnel covering the SEA Games 2019, which officially begin in Manila on Nov 30.

The Association of Sports Writers of Malaysia (SAM) has taken a proactive measure to assist its members by partnering with local halal food manufacturer Adabi to sponsor canned food for media practitioners covering the event.

A brief handover ceremony was held at the Adabi Headquarters in Rawang, Selangor between Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Syed Mahadzir Datuk Syed Manshor and SAM president Jasni Shafie.

“This is one of our many contributions and support for our country’s sports. We are well aware of the difficulties in obtaining halal food in the Philippines and hope that with this easy-to-prepare food, it will help sports journalists who have limited time (to prepare food) with their daily tasks,” Syed Mahdzir said in a press statement today.

More than 100 media staff from Malaysia will be covering the biennial Games in which Malaysia is targeting to win 70 gold medals.
