KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 -- The University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) today received 10,000 Himaya Premium hijab face masks contributed by manufacturer Anggun Kirana Sdn Bhd.
According to the founder of Himaya Premium Hijab Medical Mask, Datuk KK Chua, the contribution was to support the frontliners, who are slogging and risking their lives to treat COVID-19 patients, thus requiring them to have maximum protection.
“The Himaya face mask has obtained the approval of the Ministry of Health (MOH), namely, the MDA (Medical Device Authority) certification as a medical face mask. So, the frontliners can wear them without any hesitation.
“It is also very comfortable and very suitable for use by the frontline personnel who are always facing a high risk of COVID-19 infection,” he said in a statement today.
Chua said that plans were underway to contribute the face masks to several other hospitals in the country.
Meanwhile, a PPUM medical officer, Dr Illena Abdul Muin said the hospital was very thankful at the contribution and it would be of assistance to the personnel at the medical centre who required a large number of face masks.
Another medical officer, Dr Amir Arif Ahmanul said the the face mask company’s effort was a good initiative in helping the clinical continuity which required the frontliners to don medical face masks at all times.
