Local Entrepreneurs Urged To Improve Product Quality

KANGAR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- Local entrepreneurs are urged to consistently enhance the quality of their products as this proactive approach will continue to capture public interest and foster a preference for Malaysian goods. 

 Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) Trade, Distribution and Business Sector senior director, Datuk Rohaizi Bahari said entrepreneurs should capitalise on the current trend, as a significant number of consumers are switching to buying local goods.

“While precise data is currently unavailable, the survey results and feedback from local entrepreneurs suggest a positive reception of their goods following the boycott of foreign products due to the issue of Israeli oppression of the Palestinian people.

“As such, I recommend local entrepreneurs to enhance the existing quality of their products,” he told reporters following the launch of this year's RAHMAH Kasih Sayang "Mai Pakat Mai" Perlis Sales Carnival at the Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex.

Rohaizi emphasised the importance of public support for local products to prevent the outflow of money abroad, ultimately contributing to the growth of the national economy.

Meanwhile, Rohaizi said the Perlis KPDN Office recorded sales totaling nearly RM3.5 million, with over 180,000 visitors participating in the Rahmah Sales Programme in the state as of yesterday.

“As of Dec 22, the Perlis KPDN Office has carried out the sales programme at 199 locations across three parliamentary areas and 15 state constituencies, of which, 60 were held at indoor venues, 25 were held outdoors and 114 were mobile sales,” he said.
