Malaysian Riders Dominate Rimba Raid Lenggong 2024, Win All Categories

LENGGONG, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysian riders swept all championship titles in the 2024 Rimba Raid Lenggong endurance motorcycle race, which took place over five days from Sept 25.

In the Class A category, Mohd Zulkarnain Tahir was crowned champion after clocking a time of 5 hours 51 minutes 45 seconds, while Shamsul Azhar Abu Hazim secured second place with a time of 5 hours 58 minutes 25 seconds, and Charles Loo came in third with a time of 6 hours 26 minutes 47 seconds.

For the Class B category, Ahmad Iezzam claimed victory, recording a time of 5 hours 23 minutes 42 seconds, followed by Ahmad Danial Haiqal Ahmad Shamsul Nizam Surib in second place with 5 hours 30 minutes 15 seconds. South Korean rider Jae Heon Jeong took third with a time of 5 hours 30 minutes 58 seconds.

In the Class C category, Muhammad Hazlami Mustapha Kamaly emerged victorious with a time of 5 hours 6 minutes 33 seconds. Indonesia's Wawan Kadri took second place, finishing at 5 hours 12 minutes 6 seconds, while Muhamad Amirul Ramli secured third with 5 hours 14 minutes 37 seconds.

Earlier, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee chairman for Loh Szee Yee, presented the prizes to all winners at the competition’s closing ceremony held at the Tasik Raban Resort in Lenggong.

Rimba Raid Lenggong 2024, recognised as the longest endurance motorcycle race in Asia with a course spanning 300 kilometres, saw participation from 279 competitors from 25 countries.

Meanwhile, Shamsul Anuar, in his speech, said that the event would continue in Lenggong next year, with more local and international riders expected to participate.

He added that the event not only added value but also helped promote Lenggong, which had been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
