Over 90 Programmes Planned By Melaka Japen To Enliven National Month Celebrations

MELAKA, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The Melaka Information Department (JaPen) is organising over 90 programmes across all 84 MADANI Communities to enliven the National Month 2024 celebrations.

Its director Ab Rasil Hajatil said that these programmes will include flying the Jalur Gemilang campaign and the ‘1 Rumah 1 Jalur Gemilang’ initiative, aimed at fostering national pride and patriotism within the community.

“All segments of society, regardless of status, race, or religion, are encouraged to hoist the national flag throughout this month, whether at home, in offices, at business premises, or in village areas,” he said.

He added that the ‘1 Rumah 1 Jalur Gemilang’ campaign underscores the government’s commitment to engaging everyone in celebrating and appreciating the country’s independence.

He said this when appearing as a guest at the Melaka National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Wawancara @ Konti Melaka FM, which was also attended by state broadcasting director Siti Nurbaini Khairi.

He said that Chief Minister Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh will officiate the state-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2024 launch ceremony on Aug 12 at Dataran Keris Alor Gajah.

The event, starting at 8 am, will feature a variety of engaging activities, including Merdeka aerobics, a fashion competition for Tadika Perpaduan children, and opening gimmicks.

“Additionally, we will host a Rahmah Sale, and the Royal Malaysian Police will offer a summons payment counter with a 30 per cent discount. There will also be exhibitions from various departments and agencies,” he noted.

“The Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the National Registration Department (NRD) will provide service counters. There will also be free health screenings and cancer screenings for the public,” he added.
