PM Anwar Extends Help To Fisherman Experiencing Income Loss

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim handed over a cash contribution to a fisherman in Pahang whose income has been affected for the past five months.

The contribution was delivered to Supian Saman, 39, by the Prime Minister’s political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, at Kampung Darat Sungai Ular, Cherating, as part of the Zirah MADANI initiative.

“Life as a fisherman is not easy, especially when the sea is rough. I was informed that they could not go out to see for four to five months now due to strong waves, severely affecting their daily income,” Ahmad Farhan said in a post on his Facebook today.

He said Supian and his family live in a derelict house, with walls on the verge of collapse and a roof that can barely withstand heavy rain.

He added that the Pahang Implementation Coordination Unit will assist in repairing the fisherman’s house to ensure their comfort and safety.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Farhan said the Ziarah MADANI programme is not just about visiting those in need of assistance but also extending a helping hand.

“May Supian and his family be blessed with abundance and all their affairs be facilitated,” he added.
