KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 -- The Malaysian Bodybuilding Federation (MBBF) will conduct a preliminary selection of athletes for the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam this Sunday.
Its honorary secretary, Kamaruzaman Kadir, told Bernama that invitations had been sent to all state associations and hoped to see as many athletes as possible to turn up for the selection.
Meanwhile, he expressed his disappointment with the action of the organiser of the biennial sports meet for not having submitted further information on the event yet.
“The information is necessary, like on the number of participants that can be sent for each category to enable us to make careful planning to face the challenges in Vietnam,” he added.
A total of 10 categories are expected to be contested, including seven for men and one for women open at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi, which is scheduled from Nov 21 to Dec 2.
The bodybuilding event made a comeback at the 2021 SEA Games after last competing in the 2013 edition in Myanmar which saw Malaysia bringing home one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
