KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin wants nothing but the best from the men’s national futsal squad at the 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifying in Fergana, Uzbekistan from Oct 7 to 11.

Hamidin in a statement issued by FAM today expects improved performance by the boys of Rakphol Sainetngam by putting up the best in each match in the tournament.

“Players are reminded to stay focused as it is not impossible for Malaysia to create upsets. Not only that, the players are also required to excel in the friendly matches in Thailand.

”It is not easy to be accorded the honour to don the national jersey, so make full use of the opportunity to bring honours to the country,” he said.

This morning, Hamidin witnessed the training session of the Harimau Malaya futsal squad at Arena Futsal FAM, Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya.

The national futsal squad is scheduled to compete in Group G, will face Iraq (Oct 7), Uzbekistan (Oct 9) and Cambodia (Oct 11) at Samo Sports Complex, Fergana.

The national squad comprising 20 players will leave for Thailand on Sept 24 for three friendlies against the hosts, Afghanistan and Taiwan.
