REMAINS OF 45 INDIANS KILLED IN KUWAIT BUILDING FIRE BROUGHT HOME

NEW DELHI, June 14 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- A special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft carrying the remains of 45 people who died two days ago in a devastating fire in Kuwait landed in the southern state of Kerala on Friday, a state government official confirmed over the phone, reported Xinhua.

The dead bodies of residents of the southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka would be off-loaded at the Cochin International Airport, and the rest would be flown to Delhi, the official said.

Adequate arrangements have been made to send the remains to their respective homes, Kerala Law Minister P. Rajeev told media.

"We have arranged a special ambulances for each dead person and a police vehicle will go up to the house of the deceased," added the minister.

Among the deceased were 23 from Kerala, seven from Tamil Nadu, three from Andhra Pradesh, two from Odisha, and one each from Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. The deceased included engineers, drivers, supervisors and other professionals.
