NEW YORK, Aug 2 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Thursday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.3 per cent to 104.420 at 3.00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro lost to US$1.0784 from US$1.0827 in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to US$1.2727 from US$1.2855 previously.
The US dollar bought 149.56 Japanese yen, lower than 150.48 yen in the previous session. It fell to 0.8729 Swiss francs from 0.8793 francs, and gained to 1.3886 Canadian dollars from 1.3795 Canadian dollars. Against the Swedish Krona, the greenback advanced to 10.7396 Swedish kronor from 10.7015 kronor.
