Women's Tennis World No.1 Swiatek Bags Bronze Medal At 2024 Paris Olympics

ANKARA, Aug 3 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The women's tennis world no.1, Iga Swiatek, has bagged the bronze medal at 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Polish star beat Slovakian Anna Karolina Schmiedlova with 6-2, 6-1 straight sets at Court Philippe-Chatrier in just 59 minutes.

Chinese world no.7 Zheng Qinwen, who had eliminated Swiatek in the semis, will face 13th-seed Donna Vekic of Croatia in the women’s singles tennis final on Saturday.

Swiatek, 23, won four French Open (Roland Garros) singles titles along with the 2022 US Open title.
