JAKARTA, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Indonesia has joined several countries in advising its nationals to leave Lebanon and avoid travel to the country due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Other countries, such as Australia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom, have also advised their citizens to leave Lebanon immediately.

Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a travel advisory on Sunday stating, “Citizens in Lebanon are urged to leave the country as soon as possible.”

The advisory also includes warnings against travel to Iran and Israel, urging those in these regions to remain vigilant and follow safety measures provided by Indonesian embassies in Beirut, Tehran, and Amman, or to contact the Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens.

The advisory will remain in effect until the security situation improves.
