US Dollar Edges Lower In Late Tuesday Trading

NEW YORK, Aug 21 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar weakened slightly in late trading on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.44 per cent to 101.441 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was up to US$1.1121 from US$1.1081 in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to US$1.3030 from US$1.2992 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 145.38 Japanese yen, lower than 146.67 Japanese yen of the previous session.

The US dollar was down to 0.8555 Swiss francs from 0.8627 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3622 Canadian dollars from 1.3634 Canadian dollars. The US dollar lost to 10.2066 Swedish kronor from 10.3145 Swedish kronor.
